We're here to show you what clothing actually feels like when it's made for you.

Who we are

I'm Jai — founder and head tailor at Praetorian Bespoke in Mermaid Beach. I've spent over a decade in tailoring, and the one thing I couldn't stop thinking about was this: most people who think they've experienced bespoke clothing haven't. They've experienced a standard pattern being adjusted to approximate them. That's not the same thing.

Three years ago, I started Praetorian Bespoke to do it properly, which means doing it myself, from the first conversation to the final fitting. No outsourcing. No middlemen. Every garment is designed and built by our hands, for one person.

What we believe

Great tailoring should be personal, unhurried, and made for the specific person wearing it — not for a size chart or a production schedule. When you wear something built for your body and your life, you don't just look different. You move differently. You carry yourself differently. The room responds to you differently.

That's not a marketing line. It's something we watch happen, commission after commission.

What bespoke actually means

The word gets used loosely, so let's be direct. A bespoke garment is drafted from scratch — every line and angle shaped to your body, your posture, the way you stand. There is no existing pattern being altered to approximate you. The pattern doesn't exist until we make it, and we make it for you alone.

We also offer made-to-measure, which works from a standard block adjusted to your measurements. Both have their place. They are not the same thing, and you deserve to understand the difference before you commit.

What working with us looks like

There's no pressure when you walk into the studio and no rush. We talk first — about what you need, what you like, and what you want to feel like in what you're wearing. We show you fabrics, explain your options honestly, and help you make decisions you'll feel confident about long after you leave.

You'll walk out knowing more about tailoring than when you walked in. And eventually — when the garment is finished, and you put it on — you'll understand something that's genuinely hard to explain until you've experienced it.
